Honours even in derby clash

Vaughan Evans11 Nov 2012 - 19:33

Fleetwood still unbeaten this season had a tough test this weekend against a strong well drilled Burnley side.

A good start to the match with new boy Matthew Wright blistering run down the wing beating his opponent but putting the ball down just short of the try line. But Captain Sam Morley soon made amends with the first try of the game 5-0. But Burnley came back strong and scored 4 tries before half time 5-20. Second half Fleet' came back strong and Alex Graham made it 10-20. Next a good strong run from young Jack Brocklehurst burst through the defence and scored 15-20. Now with true Fleetwood spirit and grit the team dug their heels in and played some good strong rugby. Next scrum half Kyle Rudge made a good run down the wing beating all defence only to dive just short of the line. With 8 mins to go Morley made another good strong run and score to make it an even 20-20. This was a good well contested match and both teams played some good strong rugby.
