On a cold February day when many fixtures were cancelled Fleetwood welcomed Liverpool Collegiate for a re-arranged cup fixture.

The game looked well-balanced for the first 20 minutes with the visitors establishing their forward dominance. Good work from Steve Buzza and Zac Coultas led to a penalty which was converted by Scott Richardson.
Shortly after Mark Evans was mysteriously sin-binned for an off-the-ball incident. On 30 mins centre Zac Coultas made a great break shrugging off several tacklers to go over the opponents line. Fleet were then fortunate not to concede as they pushed ahead and their opponents failed to capitalise. There then followed a period of indifference from both sides.
Fleetwood gave away a penalty near the posts but the kick was put wide.
Soon after Danny Tomlinson collected the ball and fed Lee Jones who made a great off-load to Rob Green who made good yards before Lee Storton finished off the move with a well-worked try. Conversion missed 13-0.
The line-out was functioning well with Tomlinson moving around and hooker James Lilley regularly finding his man. The scrums were not so reliable with the visitors exerting much pressure on the Fleetwood pack.
Behind the scrum Craig Doherty suffered an unfortunate injury to his shoulder but was ably replaced by Toby Holder-Williams. Tom Evans was in fine form at stand-off with Jones and Coultas combining well in the centre.

The second half started well with the ball being worked out to the speedy young winger James Fitzimmons who outstripped the defence for a try which Richardson converted. George Seymour came on in the second half and was in good support to score the 4th try again converted by Richardson. The final score of the game came from Mark Evans following good work by Marc Maher and Toby Holder-Williams.

All round an excellent result with Fleetwood dominant in the backs and despite being under pressure in the forwards their superior fitness was a telling factor, with Nick Perkes prominent.

Final Score 32-0
