Captain Ricky Newton set the standard with an interception and sprint for the line from at least 15 yards out. Dewhirst duly converted. It wasn’t long before flying winger Bobby Jones rounded off a good team try after good support play by a number of players. Fleetwood continued to dominate the first half and further tries came without too much effort.

The second half saw Fleetwood let off the gas somewhat but by then the game was out of reach of their opponents. Tom Wilson ran in 2 tries, Bobby Jones completed a hat-trick with further tries added by Chris Smith ,Scott Astin and Craig Doherty who was also named as man of the match. Michael Dewhirst kicked 6 conversions and made 1 tackle-another personal milestone.
