After a scrappy first 10 mins Fleetwood then started to dominate the game with some good strong running from Ricky Newton and Dan Orwin in the centres. It did though take a Paul Bamber penalty to get Fleetwood on the score board.
Fleetwood then put Bolton under increasing pressure which resulted in a typical Ricky Newton try, which was converted by Paul Bamber. Ricky Newton then followed up his first try with a juggling act before crashing over for his second try, again converted by Paul Bamber.
Fleetwood continued to dominate the first half and were unlucky not to have added a third try when Matt Larkin crossed the line only for the Referee to disallow the try because he had obstructed the Bolton defence.
After the restart Bolton came out of the bocks the strongest and put pressure on the Fleetwood pack, who in turn responded with a strong defensive display, particularly by Danny Maher and Steve Woodburn. Fleetwood managed to regain a strong foothold in the game and scored a 3rd try by Jack Crompton and another penalty converted by Paul Bamber.
It was a good solid performance by a strong 2nd team and man of the match Steve Woodburn was closely pushed by Danny Maher and Ricky Newton. There was also a good performance by Toby Holder Williams who was making his 2nd Team Debut.
