Fleetwood faced a potentially tough game against a strong Littleborough side who two seasons ago walked away with the league Fleet were in.

The game started with Fleetwood applying some good early pressure until Littleborough broke through to score an early try. Within minutes of the restart Fleetwood put their first points on the board with a penalty via Michael Jackson to make the score 5-3. An early injury to Dale Thompson in the Fleetwood pack was a big disappointment for the team, However Fleetwood still continued to apply all the pressure on the Littleborough defence and were rewarded with a try by Ricky Newton which was converted by Michael Jackson to give Fleetwood the lead 10 - 5. The game continued to be scrappy but the work rate was still being shown by both teams. The scoreboard continued to tick over in the first half with another Fleetwood try by Mark Silva who JUST reached the line at a stretch! again converted by Michael Jackson to make the score 17-5. Before the whistle Littleborough managed to score a try through miss tackles in the Fleetwood defence to make the score 17 - 10. This was then followed by two more penalties by Michael Jackson.

Half Time score - Fleetwood 23-10 Littleborough

The second half was not as high scoring as the first but both teams added to their totals. Fleetwood scored another try through Ricky Newton and a Conversion and further penalty was added by Michael Jackson. Littleborough also added a try to their final score.

The game finished 31-15

There was some good individual performances by the Fleetwood boys but special mention must go to Fleetwood's Man of the Match Michael Jackson, who put in a great display with his kicking game and his powerful runs on his wing.

The result moved Fleetwood into 4th place in the table, which for a newly promoted team is a great result. The 2nds next opponents is an away trip to Rossendale.
