O'Connor takes the plaudits in excellent team performance

Preston then had a chance to extend this a minute later but the kick missed narrowly. Fleetwood then seemed to steady themselves and play some excellent rugby in the first half with two tries coming before the half time whistle from Ricky Newton and Mark Silva. The second half started as the first one finished with Fleetwood dominating the play. Three second half tries were added to the scoreboard with Peter Benny, George Seymour and Michael Jackson all crossing the line. The game finished with Fleetwood down to thirteen men after two sin binnings for 2nd Ben Holland and Matthew O’Connor, Even during this period the Fleetwood boys kept a strong defence and didn’t allow Preston to score.
The game finished 33-3, which I an excellent result for Fleetwood and maintain the 100% start to the season. Man of the match performance could of gone to a number of players including Michael Jackson who converted 4 out of his 5 conversions on top of his try, but due to his hard work all game and excellent individual runs Matthew O’Connor took the limelight.
