Great start for the season

The seconds produced an excellent performance securing a well-deserved and hard-fought 24-18 over Aston-on-Mersey.
The lead was exchanged several times with Jim Haigh opening the score for Fleetwood. further tries for the home side came from Mark Evans, Steve Buzza and Mike Wilson. 2 conversions by Mike Jackson gave Fleetwood sufficient points to keep their visitors at bay despite some late pressure. Excellent performances from youngsters Henry Turner, James Cameron and man-of-the match Jack Crompton. Skipper Ricky Newton was pleased with his teams performance and showed some great individual skill of his own.
