3 from 3 for the Wyresiders as they edge Preston out

Some last ditch tackling on the wing by Clarke saving Fleetwood twice. Eventually the pressure told and Preston were in a well deserved score. (7-0). After a few words, Fleetwood charged up and from the restart Preston were bundled in to touch. Decent ball provided by Mangan and Anslow. Swept right through 3 phases. Taziker, Veitch and Young all carrying well. The ball moved out wide to Harper who strolled in for his 1st try. Excellent response (7-7). Both sides into the game now. This had them trade scores Preston 1st then Fleetwood's Taziker going under the sticks again. An excellent carrying score (14-14).2 mins till halftime. Deep kick off from Preston and a mistake by Fleetwood saw Preston gifted the ball metres from our line. A quick few phases and they were in the corner Half time (19-14) Preston.

Second half again didn’t start too well for the Wyresiders as Preston took there chances the winger sneaking in the corner. Score (24-14) another penalty from Preston (27-14) and in times not too long ago Fleetwood's heads might off dropped. 25 mins to go few words again and desperately needing some ball Fleetwood we’re awarded two quick penalties which took us deep into Preston’s half. Excellent ball again moved left and after a few phases. Harper sneaked over for his second. GAME ON!!!! (27-19). With maybe 15 to go Fleetwood took the restart. Popped to Taziker who piledrives his way through some worried Preston defence now. A couple of neat little chip overs sees Fleetwood camped in Preston’s 22. Excellent recycling and at least 6 phases later sees Harper go through a hole for his 3rd. Score (27-26) 10 mins to go. Restart collected again by Taziker carried strongly. The ball breaks loose hacked on by Belshaw eventually going out at Preston’s 10 meter. Stong defence ball chipped over by Howe. Fielded by the Preston full back who somehow manages to give a penalty away and is then binned for dissent. Howe in front of the sticks pen (27-29) - 7 mins left. Fleetwood managed to close out the game adding a further try from Harper. Final score (27-36).

A strong performance especially the last 20 from Fleetwood. The lads working so hard for each other means there's definitely some pride being re-installed in the Wyresiders shirts. However a slow start nearly cost us today. Something to bear in mind for next weeks fixture.

Outstanding performance by Harper. But our man off the match went too Taziker. Well done lads.
