Fleetwood Ladies vs Nelson and Colne Ladies

Fleetwood Ladies were able to field a full 15 plus 1 sub today which was matched by Nelson and Colne(N&C)

First try went to the visitors, after a strong rolling maul from Fleetwood only a few inches from the opposition try line, N&C's Number 15 stole the ball and ran the full length of the pitch to score under the posts which was converted making it 0:7.

The visitors, with a spring in their step quickly made it 0:14, followed swiftly by an unconverted third try.

Now Fleetwood were down by 19 points, the ladies needed to dig deep. With possession, Fleetwood moved strongly down the field towards the try line and were rewarded by a magnificent try by debutant Rachel Magowan. Conversion missed 5:19.
The half time whistle was blown after this.

Fleetwood started the second half strongly and some determined work by the forwards, was rewarded by a strong carry over the line by Ashleigh Hughes, giving her, her first try. Not converted 10:19.

N&C responded to this very quickly to make it 10:26.

Now with some positional moves and a good team talk, the game flowed better and moved quickly for the home team, putting N&C under pressure, soon to be rewarded with a third try by Phoebe Partington.(15:26)

Following a couple of injuries, both teams were down to 14 players each, N&C capitalised on this and scored the last try of the game, making the final score 15:31

Excellent performance from both teams and a massive improvement for the Fleetwood Ladies.
