Fleetwood Under 10s at Vale of Lune Festival

Sunday saw Fleetwood Under tens make the short journey north to Vale of Lune for their first venture into a rugby Festival. The day of rugby got off to a slow start and saw Fleetwood slip to a narrow defeat. Their second match was their best performance by far and saw them take an early lead which they never looked likely to lose against one of the host teams. Their third and fourth games both led to brave performances which ended up in defeat to Liverpool Colligate and a side from Warrington. Whilst once the final whistle blew Fleetwood had won one and lost three but can be satisfied with their overall performance in their first tournament as their opponents Liverpool Colligate and Warrington placed first and second respectively in the in the final and perhaps more importantly the team conducted themselves both on and off the pitch very much in the spirit of the RFU values in every game.
Our thanks go out to the team at Vale for organising such a professional event and to the parents and coaches who pulled together to ensure that all of the kids got the chance to play and have a respectable base camp from which to operate.
